22 July 2015

The Earned Agency has been appointed to handle the PR for the inaugural Commando Series, a new endurance test which replicates elements of real commando training conducted by the Royal Marines.

The agency will raise the profile of Commando Series, from Matrix Events, the team behind the Castle Triathlon Series and co-organiser of the European franchise of Run or Dye.

The first of the Commando series will take place on 14 November, at Hever Castle in Kent, with more events planned for 2016. The events will be run and staffed almost exclusively by ex-commandos.

The team will also promote the Commando Series partnering with the Royal Marines Charitable Trust, which helps raise funds to provide a better quality of life to serving and retired Royal Marines and their families.

Brian Adcock, Matrix Events director, said: “We are delighted to be working with The Earned Agency on launching Commando Series. The team demonstrates a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the active market and has all the passion and creativity needed to really kick the first round of events off.

“Having worked on many similar projects, they are a natural fit and will really help us to pull off not only a fantastic series of events, but events that will no doubt grow year on year.”

The Earned Agency MD Neil Foster said: “It’s very exciting to be working with Matrix Events for the Commando Series to help launch such a unique and fantastic event. Participation sports events are growing in popularity and we are delighted to be able to drive forward the first series, raise money for charity and have fun in the process.”

Commando Series is a 6km course with 15 obstacles set over a challenging terrain. Each event is run like a military operation, as participants are kitted up, cam’ed up and given an old fashioned PTI warm-up before receiving orders and setting off.
