Cohn & Wolfe appoints head of digital
Cohn & Wolfe has named Weber Shandwick’s Kate Joynes-Burgess as its new head of digital and integrated marketing for the UK and EMEA.
Kate will be responsible for driving the agency’s digital transformation and further building its capability in creative, integrated marketing comms.
Based in London, she has also been briefed to build closer collaboration and partnership with Cohn & Wolfe’s wider EMEA Digital Innovation Group.
She will report to Cohn & Wolfe UK CEO and EMEA MD, Scott Wilson, and global digital innovation president, Chad Latz.

“She is a fantastic operator with 15 years' experience in digital communications and has a strong track record in guiding clients and businesses, in the UK and internationally, through the rapidly evolving digital commercial marketplace.
"Beyond the work she executes for clients, Kate is also an accomplished author and content marketer in her own right.”
Kate said: “Cohn & Wolfe has a rich pedigree in insights-driven creative communications and is already receiving acclaim for its innovative, content-led digital work.

Kate was previously UK and EMEA head of digital across Weber Shandwick’s corporate, financial and public affairs practice/ While at Weber she built an embedded team to deliver corporate digital work, particularly in the area of crisis comms, which included handling of Greenpeace’s #iceclimb of London skyscraper The Shard.
She also led several accounts in the global health, education and not-for-profit arenas, including work for GSK Vaccines, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The Royal Marines and Royal Navy Charity, Keep Britain Tidy, Pearson English and Anglia Ruskin University.
Before that, she was digital content manager, social media and communities manager and senior external affairs officer at the National Trust.
In between stints at the National Trust, Kate was commissioned to advise on and implement the international Twitter strategy for Badoo, a Russian social network and dating site, across Spanish-speaking markets.
She was the only PR practitioner shortlisted for the IPA’s Women of Tomorrow award in 2014, is a regular contributor to BBC Online and Travel + Leisure magazine, served as lead contributor to Time Out’s first edition of Mexico City and the Best of Mexico, and is the author of Belize: Explorer’s Guide.
