Dynamo PR launches VR division and wins NVIDIA as its founding client
Dynamo PR has today launched a dedicated virtual reality PR division and signed visual computing company NVIDIA as its founding client.
The new virtual reality division comes following the BBC’s declaration that 2016 will be “the year that VR goes from virtual to reality”, with Oculus Rift now available for pre-order and the upcoming launches of HTC Vive, Microsoft HoloLens and Sony PlayStation VR headsets.
Dynamo previously handled the global launch of FOVE, the world's first eye tracking virtual reality headset. Dynamo’s VR team aims to promote wearable tech, the smart home and crowdfunding at the agency.
Its specialist team will hope to grow a large client base in a market poised to reach $5.1bn* by the end of the year.
Nick Morey, senior creative manager at Dynamo, will lead the newly formed team.
For NVIDIA, Dynamo will raise awareness of its computer graphics and “breakthrough technologies”. Activity has already kicked off with the agency taking journalists into “the world’s most realistic simulation, in below zero temperatures, to show off Everest in VR”.
Ben Berraondo, head of consumer and regional PR EMEAI at NVIDIA, said: “Sharing GeForce, and what it enables in the virtual reality space, is a very exciting time for NVIDIA and we’re excited to be taking Dynamo on the journey with us to reach the huge potential audience for this technology. The enthusiasm of the team shone through and we can’t wait to work with them and to see their ideas come to life."
Morey added: “There’s no doubt already that virtual reality headsets like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive will be THE gadgets of 2016. We’re working with some of the most exciting players in the VR space, and look forward to sharing their stories.
“We always aim to be at the forefront of technology and launching a VR team seemed like a natural decision for us, following recent projects and future briefs we’re working on.”
