Maitland partner George Trefgarne launches boutique PR agency Boscobel & Partners
George Trefgarne, who left Maitland in August, has set up financial PR and public affairs agency Boscobel & Partners to offer “bespoke advice” to clients across a number of sectors.
Trefgarne, a former journalist at The Daily Telegraph and director of media and research at BP, has launched Boscobel with two clients in the asset management and infrastructure sectors.
The agency is based in London, and aims to exploit the “fundamental changing of PR” by building a specialist firm offering strategic counsel, public affairs and financial comms under one roof.
Boscobel & Partners takes its name from the house and site of the Royal Oak tree where the future King Charles II hid from the Roundheads at the end of the Civil War.
Trefgarne told Gorkana he was looking to grow the agency by recruiting partners who “share Boscobel’s ethos and who believe in the need to heal the rift between society and business which opened up in the wake of the financial crisis and a simultaneous acceleration in digital technology”.
